HTC: We are going to bring Gingerbread to HTC Desire

HTC Desire is HTC's one of the most successful devices and it's also one of the most selling Android devices in Asian and European region. It was launched last year as HTC flagship device and it's still considered as an amazing device and HTC recently entered in a partnership with Google that their devices will receive Android updates for 18 months after its official release. Desire is almost 17 months old, and recently HTC announced that Desire will not be receiving Gingerbread update due to lack of memory. But now, HTC changed their decision and they officially announced on their Facebook account that HTC Desire will receive Android 2.3 a.k.a Gingerbread. Well, that was a quick u-turn HTC and I think they really made a good decision, because they confirmed in past that HTC Desire will receive Android 2.3 later this summer. HTC didn't tell us when it's coming, but I think it's around the corner.
So HTC Desire owners are you happy now and don't you think HTC was just messing around with you or some strong customer feedback made HTC to change their decision?
